What I’ve found is that most business owners feel stuck in a hamster wheel they call a company. They bought into the “grind 24/7” mentality and now they are mentally burnt out and running their business on fumes and frustrations.
They are so wrapped up in the day to day tasks and responsibilities of the business that they are not able to see the gaps and inefficiencies of their business. Typically when a person starts a business they think that they own the business when in reality they actually own a job. They feel like they can never take a day off or the entire business will crumble or won’t be profitable while they are away. Even worse, they are also frustrated with the people that they employ because they are constantly needing to follow up on tasks that should have been done with little to no supervision. Most business owners don’t even know how to start pulling away from the business in order to get a bird's eye view of what needs to take place to create better systems for accountability and maximized profits.
The truth is that most business owners are gravely fearful of building a team and then allowing them to run the business while they oversee the business. They have literally built their own prison walls and don’t know how to break free. In order to start working on the business versus in the business, entrepreneurs need to be confident in the people that they employ and trust them to do what they were hired to do and operate the systems developed by the owner. In order to create more time flexibility and freedom from the day to day hustle, entrepreneurs need to define their business vision and then identify the superpowers of their team and build effective systems to help them scale the business and dominate their industry.
